Space Rockets and Solar System Clipart

Yeah, finally finished!  I've just completed my latest space sets, Space Planets and Rocket Clipart and Space Paper / Backgrounds Clipart.

I had done a Solar System set a number of months age, which looked like this:

And so to add to the solar system and planets collection, I've put together more planets, other cosmic images, UFOs, a space station, a satellite, and space shuttle & rocket images.  Here's what that clipart set looks like:

With this clipart set I've included a background of stars.  So I've also put together another set of images of different backgrounds, some with more stars, some with less, some with different types of stars, and a couple with Earth in it.  Here is what the background set looks like:

As with most of my sets, I include both color and black & white images - which with this space background set the B & W backgrounds look pretty cool!

Now that I have 4 sets of space-related clipart sets, I'm offering them all together in one bundled set - here's the cover image and a few shots of how clipart images from the different sets can be used together:

Here's the link to the Space and Planets Bundle Clipart set on my Teachers Pay Teachers site - the description also includes links to the individual sets for more information on each:

I've had a lot of fun putting together these space-themed clipart sets.  I hope you enjoy them!

Space Buddies

Continuing my Buddies series, I've just finished Buddies in Space!  I've always loved space - studying the planets and stars when I was (much) younger.  And yes, was even alive and somewhat remember when the Apollo space program went to the moon!

So, as I've started working on this series of clipart, I thought it would be fun to do a set of space images.  I already have a planet / solar system set of clipart I put together a couple of months ago so now I have a set with kids to go with it (and am already working on another space-related clipart set of other space images, like other planets, a satellite, a space station, and other rockets).

For this Space and Astronaut Buddies Clipart set, I've put together 4 buddies in space suits, 7 buddies in the space shuttle, and 10 rocket images with either 0, 1, 2 or 3 buddies at different angles so you can use the rocket either pointing up, pointing to the side or pointing at an angle.  Also included is a space background with stars.  All of these clipart images come in both color and black & white.

As I was making these, I wasn't sure how best to do the buddy faces as they are all either wearing a space helmet or are in a rocket behind glass.  So in Illustrator I grouped all of the head objects together and then changed the transparency and brightness levels so that the final images look like they are actually behind glass.  The "glass" that makes up either the space helmet or rocket window also has some reflective objects to help make it look a little more realistic.

Backpack Buddies Clipart

Who doesn't like backpacks?  All kids have them, all kids use them.  Backpacks are ubiquitous in school. (Yeah, I used ubiquitous - good word, huh?)

So, my latest Buddies set has them wearing backpacks!  This clipart is a great addition to any Back to School type product (or school supplies), as well as general images with kids in school.  I've created a couple of sets - boy and girl each - one from the front, one from the side, and I added an extra image of one of the couples from behind wearing backpacks, walking away while holding hands.  How cute is that!

Then I went through more reference images and put together an additional 16 various backpacks for the set.  As usual, I have both color and black & white versions of all of the clipart.

Here's the set:

This was another fun set to put together.  Here is a direct link to the product on my Teachers Pay Teachers store:

Movie and Film Buddies

Now that it's summer movie season, I was motivated to complete a new clip art set that I've been tinkering with for a while.  I first had the idea while looking at reference images (collecting movie-themed objects) that I would do a set related to the movies.  But then when I started the "Buddies" series with smiling faces, I had the inspiration for completing the set.

For the two kids, I started with the red chairs, then the sitting bodies, then added the faces I wanted, and then finally a soda for one and popcorn for the other to complete the 2 buddies.  Putting together the other clip art for the set was fun as well, especially the numbers using the film countdown style (although since movies are now all digital, there really isn't that kind of countdown any more ...).

This clip art can be used for all sorts of things, whether it's a movie star theme for a classroom or pieces in different PowerPoint slides or products where a movie or film piece of clip art can accent the teaching lesson.

Here are the clip art pieces in the set:

Sketchy Bugs and Insects

I've been working on this product for a little while.  Every time I get a little tired of drawing people or some of the more intricate, realistic-looking pieces, I sketch out a bug or insect for a little break.  So this set was a lot of fun to do and is a little more creative than most of my other sets.  I played a lot with colors, different wing colors and crazy bug colors, but ended up with most of them being close to their actual colors as just the playful forms and large eyes gave each of them a fun, sketchy look.

Here's the completed set:

And I also have a black and white version of each bug:

Turning Heads ...

You never know what's gonna come next.  Yeah, I've got a list a mile long of clipart to be drawn, but as I've started the new Buddies series I'm coming up with some new ideas of clipart I haven't seen in other sets.  I saw this idea in a reference image, and decided this would be my next set.

Certainly, the views from the front and back were easiest to draw, and the profile views (1/2 turn right and 1/2 turn left) were fairly easy.  But the 1/4 and 3/4 turns were more of a challenge - particularly the 3/4 when most of what you see is the back of the head.  I figured you would at least see the cheekbone and part of the nose, but without seeing part of the eye it looked a little weird.  So I drew in an eye and it looked much better (even if it's not exactly realistic).

Here's the set, now uploaded onto Teachers Pay Teachers:

And like my other Buddies sets, I've made black and white versions (with grayscale):

Teachers Night Out Boston

No, I'm not a teacher (but I'm married to one!) ... but I still want to support New England's teachers!  So, I contributed two coupons for any 3 products in my TPT store:

Sounds like it was a fun night for the teachers at Patriots Place in Foxboro, MA - especially from all of the Instagram photos I saw!

(Julie is 3rd from the right in the back row ...)

Sounds like not a lot of bowling was done, but the teachers had a great time, and I was glad, in a way, to be a part of it.

Cheers!

Buddies: New Student and Teacher Faces Clipart

Introducing "Buddies" - these fun faces are going to be new characters in upcoming clipart sets.  Yes, they have big heads and smiling faces, but will also be able to work better in sets for younger elementary-age products than my "Friends" series.

Here is the first set, Student Heads / Faces Clipart:

And here is the Teacher Heads / Faces Clipart set:

To introduce the series I've included 2 more student faces and 1 additional teacher face as a ***FREEBIE *** !!!  Here is the cover of the Freebie set:
